Pokémon Sword & Shield: New Pokémon, Characters and more!

As we are in the run up to the release of the next generation of Pokémon games Sword and Shield it’s always custom that the Pokémon Company gives us segments of information. As with previous games, the short video released has given us an insight into new Pokémon, gym leaders and new styles of battle. The sad thing to see is that there is still no mention of the National Dex being added which has left many fans disheartened. Read below to see who and what is coming to gen 8.

NEW POKEMON

Yamper

Puppy Pokémon, Type: Electric, Abilities: Ball Fetch

Alcremie

Cream Pokémon, Type: Fairy, Abilities: Sweet Veil

Rolycoly

Coal Pokémon, Type: Rock, Abilities: Steam Engine or Heatproof

Duraludon

Alloy Pokémon, Type: Steel/Dragon, Abilities: Light Metal or Heavy Metal

 

NEW CHARACTERS

Chairman Rose

Chairman Rose is the chairman of the Galar Pokémon League.

Oleana

Oleana is the secretary to Chairman Rose.

Bea

bea fighting

Bea is the fighting-type gym leader and looks to be exclusive to Pokémon Shield. She has a Hitmontop on her team.

Allister

allister ghost

Allister is a ghost-type gym leader who is said to take over from Bea and is on Pokémon Sword. He has a Mimikyu in his team.

 

GIGANTAMAX

We don’t just have Dynamax battles in Pokémon Sword & Shield, we also have Gigantamax battles. Pokémon will be gigantic balloon sized creatures and will be able to use G-max moves. Only certain Pokémon will be able to use the moves.
